For us working moms - I like auctions that end during the day. Then I can bid. If the auction ends on a weekend, I usually end up forgetting about.

We also don't have a computer at home though.

I did hear from an ebay training guy that did a seminar here. Sat/Sun evening auctions have lower/less bids. I tend to think that depends on the item and who wants it.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I've had this site bookmarked for quite a while.

    http://www.auctionbytes.com/Email_Ne.../calendar.html

I've never used, but it's supposed to tell you when is a good time to list auctions and for how many days. Again, I've never personally used it (in fact, I've never sold anything on ebay--I just bookmarked it "in case").

Edited to add, according to this site Sunday is the best day to end auctions.

Can I ask what dolls normally go for (not retired ones) on ebay? Right now they seem to be the same price as buying new from AG which I really don't understand. I personally haven't had a good run buying on ebay as there has always been an issue with overcharging for postage or not arriving on time (like 2 months later) so I would never buy on ebay over AG unless of course it was a retired item.

Do I wait or will dolls always go high like this?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">They always run higher than they locigally should, but in the summer I've gotten dolls with minimal flaws for as little as $30 in full 7 day auctions.

    Thanks Sara,
That is what I would expect to pay for a doll that is second hand and is still currently available from a store. I was in awe of the prices for some dolls. As I said I totally understand the prices being high for a PM or a white body doll since you can't get those anymore but for a doll I can still buy brand new????? Too silly. The problem for me is that I have to add $30 for shipping so it would be silly for me to buy a doll for more than $30.

    I guess I will wait.

    Thanks heaps,
    Juliette

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">$30, is that actual shipping? Man I'd never order ANYTHING if it were that much! I complain if it's much over $10.

I guess it costs alot more when I it's a big thing like a doll. I've bought some things internationally, but never a doll.

$30 seems to be what everyone keeps telling me. If the doll were boxed it would be $45 - $55 particularly if I were to get an outfit as extra.

That's why I want them to make one expecially for me called Australian Girl that I can order locally and pay $10 for postage - Yey - my dream. We just don't have 18" dolls here in Australia. I'm not sure why but it just never caught on. Target had some there for a while but they were a dismal failure (and ugly. Also we don't have any clothing here for 18" dolls so I have to make all of Jenna's stuff (Maplelea) because it would cost me a small fortune to have any kind of outfit bought and sent here.

I guess I picked an expensive hobby - gulp!

I've seen many dolls go for $40-$50 in the summer. What I look for is the dolls with silver eye. They go for about $30 in the summer and I ship them to the doll hospital for about $7 and they will fix the eyes for free and tighten the limbs and I get a doll that's practically brand new.
